In a small village in Anatolia, people strictly adhere to their traditions and customs. When Zühre, one of the young women in the village, becomes pregnant by the man she loves, these rigid traditions come into play. The village elders convene and decide on a merciless punishment: Zühre will be killed along with her baby after giving birth. The harrowing task of carrying out this decision falls to her father and brother.
